Alice, the Mad Hatter and the white rabbit, along with a host of other characters, will be entertaining children at Canal Walk this winter as the Centre Court comes alive to the finest childrens` theatre in the country.
Lewis Carroll`s much loved classic, Alice in Wonderland, will be brought to life by the award winning duo, Fred Abrahamse and Marcel Meyer. The show is presented in association with Liqui Fruit and will run from Saturday 28 June to Sunday 20 July in a specially constructed theatre in the Centre Court.
With breathtaking sets, magnificent costumes, gorgeous puppets and memorable songs, the show will showcase the talent of some of South African finest up-and-coming musical theatre stars.
The shows will run from Tuesday to Sunday at 11am, 12.30pm and 2pm. Canal Walk will donate R5.00 from each ticket sold, as well as the proceeds of programme sales to Stop Hunger Now. The donations form part of Stop Hunger Now`s Meals in Memory, which will see more than 250 000 meals packaged in the Western Cape from now until Mandela Day on July 18. This will be enough food to feed 3 000 children at 66 needy preschools for the rest of the year.
