Secret Tunnels below Cape Town City - Take the Tour

Secret underground Tunnels below the City of Cape Town is an unique urban adventure with strong historical and environmental significance. As the years passed and the City expanded the Canals were used to transport sewerage until 1895 by when they were all arched over and forgotten. It is advisable to bring a flash light and use non slip shoes when doing this tour, as the tunnels are wet and slippery at some points.
The tunnel is extremely clean and well ventilated. Natural lighting adds to the ambiance of the walk and the air is fresh.

During the tour, a guide will enlighten you on the history of the tunnel, how it shaped the city of Cape Town in the 1800?s and brought much anguish and relief to its rulers and governors.

The walk will also reveal various architectural elements, mineral deposits  such as Stalactites and natural life found like fresh water crabs. but no rats.
