When you live in Cape Town

The Swiss-based New 7 Wonders Foundation announced the initial results of the competition, in which hundreds of millions of votes were cast worldwide via mobile and internet platforms, in Zurich, Switzerland shortly after 9pm South African time on Friday the 12th of November.

The seven provisional winners, in alphabetical order, are: the Amazon in South America; Halong Bay in Vietnam; Iguazu Falls in Argentina; Jeju Island in South Korea; Komodo in Indonesia; Puerto Princesa Underground River in the Philippines; and Table Mountain.

Growing up in Cape Town, how does Capetonians feel about their city. We have the Helderberg, Hottentots Holland and Table Mountain ranges around us with beautiful oceans, nature reserves and wonderful people. We have hundreds of Wine Estates, fruit farms and great weather. Winter time on a real cold day the temperature will be only around 11 Degrees Celsius.

So the answer is simple. Capetonians feel Great and proud about their city. Our campaign for the 2010 Fifa Soccer World Cup was the best organized in all provinces of South Africa according to one of the top organizing figures that I met at Cape Town Stadium. With no incidents and a wonderful atmosphere this was a good time for people of all races to do some bonding and just get to know each other. The racial tension was soon forgotten and Cape Town became one.

South Africans generally is a great competitive sporting nation and Cape Town
has plenty of World class Golf courses, great stadiums that hosted the ICC Cricket, Fifa Soccer and Web Ellis Rugby World Cups.

Don't forget to mention all the great Rock Bands and international stars that came to visit Cape Town in the last year or so, Neil Diamond, U2, etc.

Cape Town is also famous for all it's tourist attractions like the V&A Waterfront, Rhodes Memorial, Cape of Good Hope and of course the great wines and cheeses.

Yes, we love Cape Town and Yes we are here to stay!

So......................Welcome to Cape Town...!!!
