Laviai Nielsen drew inspiration from Femke Bol's stunning world record-breaking performance in the 400m

Laviai Nielsen drew inspiration from Femke Bol's stunning world record-breaking performance in the 400m, even as she narrowly missed out on an individual world medal herself. Despite finishing fourth with a new personal best of 50.89 seconds, Nielsen found motivation in the electrifying atmosphere of the race in Glasgow, where Bol set a new indoor world record with a remarkable time of 49.17 seconds.

Reflecting on her performance, Nielsen expressed pride in her race strategy and effort, especially considering the blistering pace set by Bol and her Dutch compatriot Lieke Klaver. Nielsen's determination was evident as she battled fiercely in lane two, ultimately finishing just shy of the podium. However, she remained optimistic, emphasizing her hunger for success and the satisfaction of leaving everything on the track.

Looking ahead to the 4x400m relay on Sunday, Nielsen is eager to team up with her sister Lina as part of the Great Britain squad. Despite knowing that Bol's Dutch team is the favorite for gold, Nielsen is hopeful that her team can rally support from the home crowd, drawing inspiration from the enthusiastic cheers witnessed during Kerr and Caudery's gold medal performances.
