Hartenbos Lagoon Resort - Child Friendly and Charming

It only took me a couple of minutes bribing her with the beautiful ocean and mountain views of Knysna and George and within a jiffy we were packing our bags like two excited school kids going on a road trip. One second I was in my overall working on the farm and the next we were in our car heading towards the Garden Route.

We did not make it all the way to Knysna but checked in at Hartenbos Lagoon Resort and the excitement was still running high. We were very impressed with the friendly staff that welcomed us with some fresh juice and took us to probably the best rooms the resort could offer.
We could not wait to unpack and get onto the paddle boats that was laying on the smoothing water of the lagoon.

We had a couple of drinks at the ladies bar before we head off to our room and had a briefing of what we would do over the next week. Back to the water we went canoeing on the lake and then had a traditional South African barbeque (Chops and Wors with salads and grilled cheese, tomato and onions sandwiches)

Having fun on the lagoon
Drinks at the pool area

In the center of town is the Hartenbos Fun Park. The entertainment quality for kids and adults is worth the mention. We spend 4 hours there doing the water slides, bump cars, swings and there is pool and put put for the enthusiast.

The water slides has 5 different levels from the "Glip" for kiddies to the "Free Fall" for the brave hearted.

Outside the Fun Park you will find the market stall where they have a food section and local crafts. Generally the Hartenbos crew is friendly and it appears that they share the holiday fever with the visitors from all over the country.

The beach in front of the Hartenbos Spur is clean and well maintained. There are caravan camps very close to the ocean and the aromas of Sunblock and Braai's is hanging in the air.
