Spiritual Synaesthesia Trance Party - Botrivier 2014
See with your ears and hear with your eyes as things get downright psychedelic at Spiritual Synaesthesia, an outdoor trance festival presented by The Village that’s set to touch down on Wildekrans Wine Estate in Bot River (also known as the Land of Wandering Dreams) from Saturday, 3 to Sunday, 4 May 2014.
This so-called ‘gees fees’ will feature international acts like Samaveda and Joao Trindade (better known as Anestetic) from Portugal, and it also marks the close of the 2013-2014 summer trance party season. Not to mention, festival-goers can look forward to a whole host of local psytrance legends, like Biorhythm and Rubix Qube, spinning basslines and breaks that will have party-lovers vibrating from within all weekend.
Alongside a shaded dance floor where the sickest sounds can be absorbed, the shindig will also feature food stalls and a fully licensed bar to keep revelers nourished and lubricated, as well as craft and clothing stalls ideal for some shopping in between jamming. All that’s needed is some camping gear, the goodies necessary to survive (you can bring your own alcohol, but as no glass bottles are allowed, be sure to decant it into plastic receptacles) and plenty of gees.

Hartenbos Lagoon Resort - Child Friendly and Charming
It only took me a couple of minutes bribing her with the beautiful ocean and mountain views of Knysna and George and within a jiffy we were packing our bags like two excited school kids going on a road trip. One second I was in my overall working on the farm and the next we were in our car heading towards the Garden Route.
We did not make it all the way to Knysna but checked in at Hartenbos Lagoon Resort and the excitement was still running high. We were very impressed with the friendly staff that welcomed us with some fresh juice and took us to probably the best rooms the resort could offer.
We had a couple of drinks at the ladies bar before we head off to our room and had a briefing of what we would do over the next week. Back to the water we went canoeing on the lake and then had a traditional South African barbeque (Chops and Wors with salads and grilled cheese, tomato and onions sandwiches)
In the center of town is the Hartenbos Fun Park. The entertainment quality for kids and adults is worth the mention. We spend 4 hours there doing the water slides, bump cars, swings and there is pool and put put for the enthusiast.
The water slides has 5 different levels from the "Glip" for kiddies to the "Free Fall" for the brave hearted.
Outside the Fun Park you will find the market stall where they have a food section and local crafts. Generally the Hartenbos crew is friendly and it appears that they share the holiday fever with the visitors from all over the country.
The beach in front of the Hartenbos Spur is clean and well maintained. There are caravan camps very close to the ocean and the aromas of Sunblock and Braai's is hanging in the air.

We could not wait to unpack and get onto the paddle boats that was laying on the smoothing water of the lagoon. |
