Tygerberg Nature Reserve – the perfect winter escape!

Capetonians are invited to visit the Tygerberg Nature Reserve where they can picnic, enjoy the scenery, attend an environmental education session and hike or trail-run along 13 kilometres of self-guided walking trails.

The Tygerberg Nature Reserve is a 309 hectare stretch of land that has been set aside to conserve the critically endangered Swartland shale renosterveld - only one percent of this vegetation type is presently conserved. The reserve forms part of the Cape Floral Region, which is the smallest and richest of the world’s six floral kingdoms.
The Tygerberg Hills tower over the northern suburbs of the city allowing visitors a 360 degree view of the Cape Peninsula where it is possible to see two world renowned heritage sites, Table Mountain and Robben Island.

Tygerberg Nature Reserve is also home to a wide variety of plant and animal life. To date 562 floral species have been recorded in the reserve, of which 23 are threatened. One hundred and thirty seven bird species, including the iconic Jackal Buzzard which soars over the reserve; 24 mammal species including Caracal, Grey Rhebuck and Honey Badger; seven amphibian and 27 reptile species can also be found in the reserve.

Environmental educational programmes and activities are conducted from the Kristo Pienaar Environmental Education Centre in the reserve. These programmes are available to the public by booking with the Environmental Education Officer.

How to get my Blog Exposed - How to get your Blog Exsposed

Today we discuss how you can get more visitors to your Blog. Website intelligence is the key factor to many websites and blogs to get the maximum exposure.

When creating a new blog, it is of great importance that your blog or website url must be submitted to search engines. You can ad your url to many free search engines via "free website submission" search in google. A good title witch are related to the content of your blog will get your rankings much higher than a title with no revelancy of the site.

A good way to get the word out there is to comment on other blogs with the same interest's. Blog carnivals are great for driving traffic to your blog. Participants in each Change of Shift, for example, all see a significant burst of traffic to their blogs in the days after each edition. Check out Blog Carnival for a huge list of carnivals on all sorts of topics.

A blog network is simply a collection of blogs that help drive traffic to one another. Large, established networks might not let new blogs in, but many do hold open application periods every so often. You can also approach networks that look like a good fit for your blog or even start your own — getting visitors to your blog and helping others to do the same!

Most Importantly…

All of these tips assume that you’ve already got great content — which is easily the number one way to get visitors to your blog. If you don’t have great content, you’re just wasting your time. The visitors will leave just as quickly as the came, and you’ve quite likely lost a chance to get them back. If you do have great content, though, you may not have to do anything else. People will talk and link and promote you themselves without you having to lift a finger. It’s not quite “If you build it, they will come,” but it’s close.

So focus first on posting stuff worth reading before you start trying to get people to read it. You won’t be disappointed!
